A Thrift Store Guide to Decluttering Your Home

Have you decluttered your house recently? Studies have shown a link between the amount of clutter in your house and the state of our mental health. According to a January 2019 article from the New York Times, "...a cluttered home, researchers are learning, can be a stressful home."

Consider donating your unwanted items to Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana. You will not only bring someone else joy, but will help to support our community programs. With that in mind, are you ready to clear out the clutter and get organized? Here's how to decide what to give.

Clothes

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana thrift stores accept most used clothing in good condition. Take a look at all of the closets in your home. Specific clothing items you should look to donate include coats and jackets, shoes, and even jewelry.
