The Ultimate Guide to Donating Your Stuff

We get questions all the time about donating your stuff to our thrift stores. So, we decided to create a one stop shop for all your thrift donation needs, including how donating your unused clothing and goods builds hope for people in your community.

How and where can I donate my stuff?

If you've got clothing you no longer wear, housewares you no longer use, and more, we are happy to take them off your hands. There are three ways to donate your stuff:

1. Drive up and donate to a VOA thrift store near you during normal business hours.
2. Visit a VOA drop box near you.
3. Request a donation pick-up at your home.

When can I donate my stuff?

• Drop boxes are available anytime for easy driving up and donating.
• If you request a pick-up at your home we will call and schedule a time that is convenient for you.
• You can donate during normal business hours at any of our thrift stores.

Can I get a tax write-off for my thrift store donations?

Yes, you can! All donations (in good condition) are tax-deductible. We are happy to give you a blank tax receipt stamped with our information if you donate in person at a store or if you request a pick-up. We are not able to evaluate or estimate the value of donations.

What kinds of thrift store donations will you accept?

We accept most used clothing and household wares in good condition. You can find a list of items we accept here. If you have any questions, call our donation line at 1-800-873-4505.

What items are not accepted?

We accept most clothing and household goods; however, we do have some restrictions. Find a list of items we do not accept here.

Note: There are some items we are unable to pick up from your home. You are welcome to drop off these items at one of our thrift stores or donation centers. If you have any questions, please call our donation line at 1-800-873-4505.
