Another year down, more lives changed because of your generosity.
We all have a story, and you played a role in someone else’s story. Whether we realize it or not, we have the opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s life. You helped us impact thousands of lives across Ohio, including homeless veterans, individuals and families, at-risk youth, individuals returning home after incarceration, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions.
Your support impacted these lives in ways you might have never imagined, giving their stories hope and a second chance for a new ending.

Expanding our reach
Last year, Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio officially became a statewide organization, combining with our Northwest Ohio affiliate to form one Greater Ohio—stretching our services border to border in an effort to serve more people in need across Ohio.

Recommitting our promise
We remain steadfast with our commitment to end homelessness among all veterans and their families. We pledge to continue our work to ensure our military veterans get the help they deserve.
In 2014, you helped 1,886 homeless men and women veterans receive life-changing support and services, such as housing support, employment and job training, mental health and substance abuse treatment.
But, these aren’t just statistics. They’re people. People like Tim.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Tim experienced depression and homelessness following his return to civilian life. Your support helped him find a renewed spirit after connecting with Volunteers of America.
“I began to adjust to my life without all the chaos,” he says. “I have a desire to achieve…”
That desire led him to a degree in social work, which he now utilizes in his work as a case manager at Volunteers of America, helping other veterans like him. Read Tim’s full story here.

Thanks to your help, the many chapters that make up our story of the people we serve are still being written. We are grateful for your continued support so that we can continue giving shelter, affordable housing and support programs to those in need.
Please donate your extra or unused vehicle to Volunteers of America. We’ll take almost anything with a motor, be it a car, truck, boat or RV, even if it’s not running. Same-day towing is available, and you might make more money off of your vehicle as a tax deductible donation than you would by selling it privately.
