Celebrating a new women’s motivational group

Columbus car donation boosts supportive housing

Women in the Volunteers of America Columbus Permanent Supportive Housing program will now get some extra support through a newly launched motivational group. Led by a local case manager, the group presents an exciting and inspirational way for women in the long-term, 30-family housing program to build a support system for encouragement. Though there have only been a handful of sessions so far, the turnout suggests it's here for the long haul.

The group currently meets every week.

Your Columbus car donation helps save families

At Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio, we provide affordable housing for families with disabilities in addition to our supportive services. Our goal is to offer families stable housing with the opportunity to move into independent housing and obtain meaningful employment.

But these life-changing services are only made possible through the support of people like you. When you donate your car in Columbus, you’re not just putting families back on the road toward independence, you’ll also save yourself time and money. You may even receive more for your vehicle on your tax return as a charitable donation than you would selling it on your own. But those aren’t the only perks to donating.

  1. It's quick and easy. We know your time is precious, so we’ve made donating your car in Columbus as painless as possible. Just fill out our short auto donation form to give online. We’ll also go a step further and help you obtain a duplicate title if you’ve lost yours. If your car no longer runs or you can’t drop it off in person, we offer free, same-day towing for your donation. Don’t forget, we’ll accept virtually anything with a motor, even if it doesn’t run.
  2. Support Volunteers of America programs and services in Columbus. At the end of the day, everything we do is to help those who can’t help themselves. The women and children who take advantage of our permanent housing services are why we do what we do. When you donate your vehicle, you can help a homeless family find stable housing or even give a homeless child the chance to succeed.
  3. Volunteers of America helps your neighbors – unlike mass auto clearing houses. When you take advantage of Columbus car donation, you skip the middleman who often takes a cut (sometimes as much as 50 percent) of the profits before the charity ever sees a dime. With Volunteers of America, you can be sure that all of the proceeds from your auto donation go directly to funding the programs you care about.

You can make a real difference in the lives of local children today by donating your car, truck, RV, boat or motorcycle to Volunteers of America. If you’re interested in Ohio car donation, check out our FAQ page, fill out our online donation form or call (800) 862-6030.
