Six ways Volunteers of America relies on Donate My Car programs to fund its services
Volunteers of America's Donate My Car program funds many of our most-used and popular services. When you donate your vehicle (we also take RVs, tractors, motorcycles, boats, and pretty much anything with a motor) to Volunteers of America, you are helping to support these six (and many other) crucial programs in your community.
Addiction support
Substance abuse costs an estimated $400 billion a year in lost wages, property loss through crime, and medical expenses — not to mention the heavy toll it takes on families and loved ones. We work to prevent and eliminate substance abuse through detoxification, residential and outpatient services and long-term support.
Youth education programs
We believe that success starts in early childhood. At-risk children come to us looking not only for an academic boost, but also a safe and nurturing environment, and we provide both through our Youth Education Center's after-school and summer-enrichment programs.
Shelter for the homeless
Housing is one of life's absolute necessities, and we provide housing for Ohio's homeless individuals with the goal of stabilization and sustainability. Our programs include emergency shelter, housing for families, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing for families with disabilities.
Hunger and nutrition education
We strengthen and enhance communities by acting as a safety net for individuals and families in need. Through our food pantries, we provide food to more than 7,000 families and individuals who struggle to put food on the table. Interested in donating food? Here's a helpful list of recommended items.
Veterans programs
We are currently the leading human services provider to homeless veterans in the Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton metro areas, and, as such, we are deeply committed to ending homelessness for those already on the street and preventing others from becoming homeless. We serve more than 1,800 veterans in Ohio each year, offering them transitional housing, emergency housing, treatment programs (for veterans with mental health and addiction needs), permanent housing, job training and more.
Residential re-entry
We provide clinical treatment programs to help ex-offenders become productive members of the community. Our services include intensive case management, group and individual counseling, substance abuse counseling, job-readiness, skill development, and referrals to community resources.
Search "donate my car" to find out how you can help
Feeling inspired yet? If the answer is "yes," you're in luck, because donating your car to Volunteers of America could not be any easier.
Do you have a vehicle that has been sitting idly in your garage, driveway, or in a storage facility? How about a boat, RV, tractor, or motorcycle (just about anything with a motor)?
We'll arrange free same-day towing, and you might even end up making more off of your vehicle as a tax-deductible donation than you would from selling it privately. Your donations will help families, children, and veterans have a happier holiday in all of the Ohio communities we serve.
If you have any questions, contact the Car Donation & Auction Office at 800-862-6030, or fill out the car donation form.
