Donate Your Vehicle for a Year-end Tax Deduction

Only two weeks left to receive a 2010 tax deduction on your car donation to Volunteers of America

As 2010 draws to a close, there is still time to receive a year-end tax deduction by donating a used vehicle to Volunteers of America. Those who donate a vehicle before the close of business on Friday, December 31, will be eligible for a 2010 tax deduction. A donor’s tax deduction equals the amount of the sale price of the vehicle.

All types of vehicles are accepted including cars, trucks, RVs, boats and motorcycles and in any condition. Vehicles need not be drivable to be donated. Free same-day towing is available for donor convenience.

Donated vehicles are auctioned off every week at the Volunteers of America Auto Auction located at 5640 W. Broad Street. One-hundred percent of the proceeds support Volunteers of America programs and services. The donor’s deduction is equal to the value of what Volunteers of America sells the vehicle for. In 2010, the average sale price was more than $900.00. Those interested in donating a vehicle should visit our auto donation page or call 614-870-7511 before 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or before 2 p.m. on Saturday.
