Ohio car donation changes young lives
Underprivileged children get a leg up with summer programming
At Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio, we believe that success starts at childhood. At-risk children come into our programs looking not only for an academic boost, but also a safe and nurturing environment. Our Youth Education Summer Program is now in session, and the children we serve have been busy growing and learning.
A part of our Youth Education Center, our summer program has given children in the program the chance to take part in numerous activities, such as making pizzas with ARAMARK at the Greater Columbus Convention Center kitchens. Our kids have also been treated to free ice cream from the CD 102.5 Ice Cream Truck while working daily on art projects and educational activities.
The program provides a safe, stimulating and educational place for kids to spend the summer while many of their parents work. In addition, developing their reading and math skills over the summer helps prevent the youth we serve from falling behind children who have more resources.
Donate your car in Ohio and help local kids
Our Youth Education Center does not receive any federal, state or local funding. It is entirely supported by donations, Volunteers of America thrift stores and auto donations. That means the children we serve rely entirely on the generosity of people like you to continue to learn and grow.
You can make a real difference in the lives of local children today by donating your car, truck, RV, boat or motorcycle to Volunteers of America. It’s so easy you could donate your car online right now. We even offer free, same-day towing. Think your clunker won’t qualify? We’ll take just about anything with an engine even if it’s not in working condition. Check out our FAQ page or call (800) 862-6030.
