Thank You to Our Volunteers
The greater meaning behind “donate my car”
Volunteers of America was founded in the name of volunteerism. Literally.
Advocates Ballington and Maud Booth envisioned a social reformation movement dedicated to “reaching and uplifting” every single American, pledging in 1896 to “go wherever we are needed, and do whatever comes to hand.”
Today, two centuries of service later, Volunteers of America stands as one of the nation's largest and most comprehensive human services organizations, serving the lives of more than two million people each year in communities across the United States. All thanks to our individual, group and corporate volunteers.
The Booths paved the way for our countless volunteers who continue to prove that “there are no limits to caring.”
Our volunteers donate school supplies and backpacks for at-risk kids; they host our Faces of Hope fundraising breakfast; and they adopt families for Christmas, among other creative giving opportunities.
Your contributions make a difference in the lives of the more than 20,000 Ohioans who Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio serves each year. While your generosity doesn’t go unnoticed year-round, Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio specially recognizes our faithful individual, group and corporate volunteers for National Volunteer Appreciation Week this week.
To the Booths who came before and every volunteer of America after, your generosity is celebrated and appreciated.
You can exclaim “I’ll donate my car!”, too
Interested in becoming a volunteer? While there are many options to help make a difference in someone’s life, one of our favorites is vehicle donation. You’re helping those in need plus it just makes sense.
If you have a vehicle that’s just sitting outside or in storage, and want to help Ohio’s homeless families, donate it to Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio. We’ll arrange free same-day towing, and we’ll take almost anything with a motor, including boats, RVs, tractors and motorcycles. What’s more, you might even end up making more off of your vehicle as a tax-deductible donation than you would from selling it privately.
Your donations will help uplift families, children and veterans in all of the Ohio communities we serve. If you have any questions, contact the Car Donation & Auction Office at 614-870-7511, or fill out the car donation form.
