Finding hope and stability

Jesse, U.S. Marine Veteran

Because of your kind heart, Jesse has a new start and a positive outlook on his future.
Jesse, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, has hope for the first time in a long time.

After years of battling addiction, homelessness, and a recent cancer diagnosis, Jesse’s mental and emotional health suffered. He was at his breaking point and knew something had to change to improve his well-being.

That is when he found himself at the doors of Volunteers of America’s Veterans Resource Center. It was here where Jesse was able to take the first steps to rebuild his life.

Because of you, Jesse was connected to safe and healthy housing, an apartment he could call home, and no longer had to worry about where he would sleep.

“I don’t think I would have made it. They are there with you the whole way to help you through all of your problems so you can be successful.”

Today, Jesse is sober. He feels he has all the tools he needs to maintain his health and well-being. He’s also grateful to be cancer free. He feels truly blessed.

“I never felt like I was doing this alone.”

With you by his side, Jesse is looking toward the future and living a healthy lifestyle.

I want to help veterans like Jesse find the support and hope needed to thrive.
