Columbus Art Show Funds Youth Education Program

There are few things as effortlessly creative as a child’s imagination. Just hand them a blank canvas, some brushes and paint, and sit back. Some will draw animals and familiar objects, while others will fill every available space with their favorite colors; everything they make has an unrestricted creative quality to it.

But what if these works could be turned into educational aid for the very children who created them?

That’s why, last month, we held our Annual Youth Art Exhibit, dubbed "Art for Hope." The event was held at our headquarters at 1776 E. Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio, and featured the imaginative artwork created by the children in our youth education program.

For one night, supporters came out to the exhibit, enjoyed some wine and hors d'oeuvres, and were transported into the minds of our youth as they browsed the various displays. What’s more, attendees could also place bids on the children’s artwork, and all donation proceeds went back into the youth education program.

When it was all said and done, we received over $2,600 in artwork donations.

These generous donations will support the purchase of school supplies, after-school tutoring, and will also go towards the cost of participation in our summer enrichment program.
