About Look Up and Hope:

Families affected by incarceration are one of the
most at-risk populations that Volunteers of America serves. In early 2009,
Volunteers of America announced plans to launch an innovative new family
strengthening initiative called Look Up and Hope. The purpose of this
initiative is to strengthen and support families affected by maternal
incarceration. Volunteers of America chose to focus on this particular
group because mothers with children under the age of 18 are one of the
fastest growing sectors of the incarcerated population. Today, we continue
to work toward family strengthening through Look Up and Hope.
