One Day to End Homelessness in Columbus, Ohio
Give back to Ohio’s homeless this March.
More than 8,000 men, women and children will fill every Columbus shelter bed this year–a number that only increases during the frigid winter months. These struggling moms and dads, hard workers and loving family members aren’t looking for a handout, they’re looking for hope.
WBNS-10TV and The Community Shelter Board are teaming up again for “One Day to End Homelessness," a campaign aimed at raising money to house the homeless adults and families who are quickly filling Franklin County homeless shelters. On Monday, March 11, WBNS-10TV will host an all day telethon from 6 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. where donors will be able to contribute over the phone or online.
The telethon and donation-thon are asking Columbus-area residents to become a “Housing Hero” by contributing $1 a day or $30 a month via credit card.
The Community Shelter Board provides funding to Volunteers of America's Family Housing and Men’s Emergency Shelter in Columbus. Jeff Hogan from WBNS-10TV interviewed Latasha, one of the residents in our family housing program. You can catch the interview on Monday, March 10.
