Welcome Home, Cincinnati Vets

Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio, joined by the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and Huntington Bank, officially opened the doors to its new $2.4 million Veterans Resource Center for homeless veterans with a ceremony and ribbon-cutting on Friday, June 22 in the Cincinnati community of Mt. Healthy.

The state-of-the-art, 17,500 square-foot, 54-bed facility provides a much-needed home and sanctuary to many of Cincinnati’s homeless veterans while connecting them to benefits and community and employment resources. Veteran residents of the facility enjoy single bedrooms, lounge areas, a computer lab, library and an outdoor garden as they search for permanent housing and employment. The facility adds to three similar veterans transitional housing programs and six other veterans specific programs run by Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio throughout the state.
